Chicken Karahi Recipe Ingredients
- Chicken 1 kg (small pieces)
- One cup oil
- Tomatoes half kg (ripe red )
- Onion 2(medium size)
- Yogurt half cup
- Ginger paste 1 tablespoon
- Garlic paste 2 tablespoon
- 2 lemons (juice)
- Black pepper half teaspoon
- Red chili powder
- Red chili flakes
- Salt
- Turmeric powder
- One tablespoon of coriander powder
- Two tablespoon cumin
- Half teaspoon garam masala powder
- Ginger chopped in fine slices
- Green coriander leaves
- Green chilies
Step 1
To prepare the dish, take a deep pan and place it on medium flame. Add one cup of oil to the pan. Once the oil is heated, add chopped onions and sauté them until they turn light golden in color. Then, add ginger and garlic paste to the pan. Add chicken to the pan while the paste is cooking and fry it for 3-4 minutes. Continue to sauté the mixture until the chicken turns pale in color.
Step 2:Enhancing Flavors
- After Chopping the tomatoes put them into the pan, in which the chicken is frying
- Add half a cup of yogurt
- Add red chili powder, red chili flakes, salt, turmeric, cumin, and coriander powder
- Mix up the all with a spoon
- Cover the pan with led and leave it for 10 minutes, during this time sir the spoon 2- 3 time
- Set medium flame. Now you can taste the chicken and add chili, salt according to your taste.
Note : The moisture from all the tomatoes and yogurt will be enough to cook the chicken. Don’t add water.
Step 3: Signature Flavors of Chicken Karahi
After 10 minutes turn on high flame and fry on high heat to saute out the moisture of tomatoes and yogurt. Then, add lemon juice, sliced ginger, chopped green chilies, black pepper powder, and garam masala. Your chicken karahi will be ready when you see the layer of oil in the pan. Finally, Turn off the stove.
Your tasty karahi is ready, garnish with chopped coriander leaves, sliced ginger, and 3 chopped green chilis. Serve with fresh naan.
